Congrats to Savvy & the Bruins on the new deal. While watching the presser on BostonBruins.com, I couldn’t help but think he looked like someone with the shaved head. Hmmm….maybe it’s the angle, I could be wrong….who knows?

According to TSN in Canada, Marc Savard agreed to a seven year contract extenstion with the Boston Bruins. Savard should be making around $4.2 million a year – no official word yet from the Bruins front office. But if this deal is set, the people at Ed Hardy & Gongshow will be very happy.
Boston Bruin, Shawn Thornton, made the major announcement on the Toucher & Rich Show on 98.5 The Sports Hub this morning. Thornton told T&R he didn’t play last night due to ‘a sore vagina’. Someone must be suffering from that not so fresh feeling. Poor lad. Here’s to hoping for a speedy recovery.
T&R also talked to Shawn about Marc Savard’s horrible taste in clothing. Like this outfit I caught him wearing on the deadline special last year on NESN.
Check out Thornton’s interview on T&R’s podcast on 98.5 The Sports Hub
Marc Savard, who’s been one of the top goal scorer for the Bruins these last few years, was place on long term injured reserve today with a broken foot for the next 4 to 6 weeks. This blow to the Bruins comes just days after they placed Milan Lucic on LTIR with a broken finger.
What next? Seriously? No word on how Savvy broke his foot, but I’m willing to bet he was prancing around his place in a new pair of Jimmy Choo shoes . He was feeling a little saucy and sexy after his apperance in The Improper’s style issue and took a spill. Ok, that probably didn’t happen. But it is a lovely visual, isn’t? haha
Trent Whitfield, who’s been playing for the Providence Bruins, got the call to join the big team on an emergency basis.
Is it wrong that I think of that famous picture of that Afgan girl from National Geographic? haha Ok, I know it’s a strech….but see what I mean?
Another bites the dust on Causeway Street, after 11 years with the black & gold, PJ Axelsson has bit adieu to Boston. Axelsson signed a four year contract with the Frölunda Hockey Club.
Axelsson, who played for Frölunda during the lock out, was quoted as saying, “I’ve always wanted to come back here.” Good luck, bro. Thanks to The Hockey Blog Adventure for the scoop.
While one door closes, an one opens. Not too long after Aaron Ward was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes, rumors started to pop up about free agent, Derek Morris, signing with the Bruins and low and behold it happened.
Morris, who finished the season in New York after being traded by the Coyotes, has played 793 games, scored 76 goals and has 264 assists. Morris started off his career in Calgary, where he spent five years there and during that time period, played with Chuck Kobasew, Andrew Ference, Marc Savard & Steve Begin.
