Bergeron’s Noggin, Sturms Knee and Newbies

Patrice Bergeron talked to the media yesterday afternoon after partice and vowed to be back on the ice this season. According to the center, he's no longer suffering from headaches and has been working out on the bike.

"I'm very confident I'll play this year. It's a matter
of when. That's why I don't want to put on a date on it and get
disappointed like I was last year in the playoffs. I've learned from
that. So yes, I do think I'll be back."
Marco Sturm is dunzo for the season. He'll be having his knee operated on Tuesday to repair a torn ACL. Good luck, bro.

The B's recalled a few members of the Providence Bruins Byron Bitz and Martin Karsums to play today. Bitz is going to be making his NHL debut and will be on the fourth line with Thornton & Nokelainen. Karsums will be working with Stephane Yelle & PJ Axelsson.

Tuukka Rask also made the trip to Boston. Manny Fernandez is having "issues" and Rask is going to be the back up goalie. So now issues is the new mysterious "upper body injury". Wonderful.

Finally, congrats to Claude Julien who was selected to coach the Eastern Conference All Star Team.
